Cameron & Lauren's Testimonial
Part of the big process of finding a
home requires an important question; who will be your realtor? This person you
chose will be doing anything in their power to find you the “perfect home”. To
tell you the truth, that is a scary thing all in itself, leaving that in someone
else’s hands! What happens if they miss a house that you could have gotten? What
happens if you end up with someone who is in real estate for ALL of the wrong
reasons? What if they have other clients and are more concerned with them than
they are with you because you may have a lower budget or FHA loan? There were
so many questions that had come to mind when making this decision, because
initially, they are the reason you are able to find a home! Unfortunately,
through the process we learned that there are realtors out there who do give
reason to worry about the things listed above. It is the world we live in.
Thankfully, we had the pleasure of working with the best; most caring realtor
we know is out there, Susanne Hove.
To begin our process, we started
looking in August of 2012. The rates were great, the prices of the houses were low
and slowly creeping their way up. The pressure was on for us! We wanted to buy
a home that was on land with potential to do things that accommodate our
hobbies and most importantly, a place where we could begin and grow with a
family of our own. Between August and December, Susanne wrote about 20 offers for
us! The houses and land in our price range were in the Riverside area from
about late August-early October. Then the prices started going up tremendously higher
which turned our “must-haves” list into the “well do we really need that right
now?” Susanne wanted SO bad to make sure that we got what we wanted and for the
right price. The houses in Riverside slowly went from 1 acre, 4 bedrooms, 3
bathrooms to: 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, no yard, (a master bedroom that wouldn’t
even fit our bed!) and lots more work/update than probably even worth getting
in to. To say the least, Riverside wasn’t promising for us in this time of our
lives, so we accepted this and were finally open to other options that Susanne
had told us we had from the get go. This was hard for us as we both love
Riverside, but with the market we knew we couldn’t settle for Riverside when
there could be potential opportunity elsewhere.
Susanne tossed out the idea of Perris/Menifee,
and although it was further than we wanted to be, we decided we should give it
a shot. She set up two appointments in December 2012 with new builders in both
cities as the communities were fairly new and started to develop rapidly. We
were a little skeptical because when we think of a community housing track, we
see the cookie cutter homes. You know, the ones that are stacked on top of each
other where you are practically looking in your neighbor’s window with no
privacy within the community, and that is NOT what either of us wanted. We remember
the day we went looking. By that point we were 100% drained, discouraged and
extremely negative about the possibility of anything positive coming out of
this. Neither of us wanted to see another house. When we pulled into the
community in Perris, we were shocked, even Susanne was shocked. Yes, the houses
are more of the “cookie cutter” kind because they are track homes, but the lot
sizes and the uniqueness of the different kinds of styles is what made it so
much better. We walked through the larger single story and it was beautiful! 4
bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a den and an open concept living room, dining room, and
kitchen… We finally felt like this could be it. Fortunately enough, it was! We
went back a few days later and put our deposit down on approximately a ¼ acre
lot in the end of a cul-de-sac and the process began. Even though everything (and
we mean EVERYTHING) was an upgrade, it was worth every cent.
Had Susanne not have reminded us of our
different options throughout the process, we probably would have settled for
something before the market continued to go out of our reach. We will forever
cherish getting those keys handed to us from Susanne (and will always think of
her come time to water our cute little lemon tree)!
To be honest, the process of signing
offers, waiting for an answer, having to accept that sometimes you won’t get an
answer, or going back and forth with counter offers to be shut down blindly by
someone with cash was absolutely devastating. Through the process of being
discouraged, Susanne was a constant reminder that we had someone who is honest,
loyal, truthful, responsible, caring of us our wants/ needs and most importantly, she was going to get
us in a home the RIGHT way (no matter what it took away from her). I know
Susanne was devastated for us and that she lost just as much sleep as we did
trying to figure out what we have to do to get an offer accepted or really,
just trying to figure out if she was doing something wrong. Real Estate is
Susanne’s passion, she LOVES her job. Anyone who works with her can see that. Both
of us truly value what real estate means to her, and how exciting it is for her
to help people find a house to make it their home. The love she has for that is
something we personally experienced that a lot of realtor’s lack. As buyers in
this market, we are 100% satisfied and PRIDEFUL in choosing Susanne for this
process because we know we got our home with someone who works real estate for
the RIGHT reasons.
Although recommendations are probably
not this long, we had to explain our process, and how through our process, she
was ALWAYS there and continues to be there for us. What Susanne as a realtor
has to offer is everything any buyer needs in any kind of market, she CARES.
Her new way of expanding herself as a realtor is to let people know that she
cares, and we can tell you first hand; she truly does. She cares more about her clients than
she does herself and that says everything about her in itself. Building a
strong relationship with your relator not only builds a professional
relationship, but a personal one as well. Thank you Susanne for all of your
hard work and dedication in finding this home for us. We appreciate it more
than you will ever know!
